Why Should I Test Again?
Home pregnancy tests are a great resource; they’re easily attainable and low-cost. However, sometimes they do leave room for error. That’s why it’s important to test again in a professional setting with quality tests and trained personnel who can help minimize mistakes. Some reasons pregnancy tests can give faulty results are:
- User error
- Testing too early
- Testing diluted urine
- Faulty test
- Checked the results too early
How Do Pregnancy Tests Work?
Pregnancy tests detect a pregnancy hormone called hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin). This hormone is only present during pregnancy; once it has had time to build in the body, it can be detected in urine.
When Should You Take A Pregnancy Test?
It is best practice to take a pregnancy test on the day of your expected period. However, this doesn’t mean you can’t test earlier and receive an accurate result, but if you test negative, it’s best to come back at the appropriate time to test again. Follow-up appointments and testing are free and confidential, and there are no fees associated with return visits.
